Solution to Sexual Problems

For the last thirty years, I have met hundreds of young believers and others seeking solution to sexual problems. They have forgotten that Jesus Christ had transformed prostitutes, thieves, corrupt officials and sinners. He has helped millions of people in this world to solve their sexual problems in the past. He has also promised in the Bible to give victory over your besetting sin, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith” I John 5:4.

Here are a few practical suggestions for you to overcome your sexual problems.

  1. Consider your sin as a sin and repent:  King David considered his sin with Bathsheba as a sin against the Lord, and repented (Ps 51). Hence never say that your sin is a weakness. Own your weakness as a sin, confess your sin to the Lord and repent. Repentance is change of direction in your mind.
  2. Consecrate yourself for deprogramming of your mind: Many young people fall into the same sin again and again because they have been programmed in the mind to commit the sin. So deprogram your mind by presenting your bodies as a living sacrifice to God. The outcome of complete surrender is the transformation in your life by the renewing of your mind. Rom 12:1, 2.
  3. Control your thoughts, eyes and ears:  Remember that if you put garbage inside your mind, then you will get the garbage out. What enters through the eyes and ears will corrupt our mind and lead to immoral behaviour. So be careful about what you read, see, look, think and hear. Fill your minds with the things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. Phil 4:8.
  4. Commit the problem to the Lord: Avoid taking the problem to men. But take it to the Lord who has promised to help you. “For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted” Heb 2:18. For with God, “nothing will be impossible” Luke 1:37 and if Jesus, “Makes you free, you will be free indeed” John 8:36.
