Importance of Family Prayer

It has been reported that in America, one out of three families break down in the middle. In some places it is one out of two families. But at the same time it has been found that if the family attends the Church regularly, then the possibility of the breakdown of the family is one out of forty. In case the family has daily family altar, then it is only one out of 400.

This study has proved beyond doubt that the family altar builds the family and strengthens it. Let us see some of the benefits of family altar for a Christian family.

1. It enables God to speak to all the members when the Word of God is read, discussed and exhorted. The children will be anchored in the Word of God. 
2. It gives an opportunity to acknowledge God’s authority and presence in the family and becomes a time of thanksgiving, praise and worship.
3. It helps the family members to pray for their needs and for other needs daily, systematically and with oneness.
4. It strengthens the faith of all the members of the family and enables them to see how God answers their prayers.
5. It increases the communication between the members of the family and helps to solve conflicts in the family. 
6. It becomes a model for our children and to others, and motivates them to have such family altars in their families. 
7. It becomes a time of sharing the problems and burdens of the family members and dilutes the influence of the world, devil and flesh on the members.
