King George VI, while delivering the Christmas day Commonwealth address to the nation said, “I said to the man at the gate of the year, ‘Give me a light that I may walk safely into the unknown’. And he said to me, ‘Put your hand into the hand of God and it shall be to you better than the light, and safer than the known’”.
Jehovah’s Witnesses give importance to reason rather than to the teaching of the Bible. They reject and deny all major teachings of Biblical Christianity.They claim that the Bible is the final authority for their doctrine. But at the same time they consider their own official system of interpretation superior to the Word of God.
Jehovah’s Witnesses produced an English translation of the Bible in 1961. It is called as The New World Translation (NWT). The New Testament of this translation was published in 1950, and revised in 1951. Between 1950 and 1951 about 0.5 million copies of this New Testaments were printed. The complete one volume edition of The New World Translation was released in 1961 by N.H. Knorr. The Watch Tower reported that this translation was made by ‘competent scholars’ and their names were not released to ‘maintain humility’

C.T. Russell founded the magazine Zion’s Watch Tower in 1879 and published all his ideas with circulation of about 6000 copies. He also wrote six out of the seven volumes of ‘Studies in the Scriptures’ which was sold over twenty two millions in 1960. It is said that Russell wrote books totalling over fifty thousand pages.
Charles Taze Russel the founder of Jehovah’s Witnesses, was born on Feb 16, 1852 to Joseph and Anna Elisa Russell. He belonged to a congregational church. He spent his early years in Allegheny and Pittsburgh. At the age of 25, he became the manager of several clothing stores in North Pittsburgh.
The Content: Jesus died and rose again for our sins “Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you … that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures” I Cor 15:1, 3, 4.
It Departs from Grace: The first mark of any other gospel will be its departure from
grace to any other thing, like experience or works. “I marvel that you are turning
away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ” Gal 1:6. The other
gospel can be identified by its departure from the ‘grace’ of God for salvation.
