We usually remember certain events for many years. One of the events which I will
not forget took place when I stayed with my friend in a mission field in Orissa. My
friend was the leader in his institution. He had a big team which worked under him
and he carried heavy responsibilities throughout the day.

Many people hesitate to put their trust in God. But they put their trust mortal man and material things. Only at the end do they realize their folly. As believers we are called to trust God and put our confidence completely on Him.

In the last day, the young missionary pastor sat near the pulpit thanking the Lord for a blessed missionary in his church in that year. The ushers were distributing the faith promise card to his church.

Once an officer attended a Bible study. At the conclusion of the study the leader said, “You can trust the Saviour, who died for you.” The officer was deeply touched and left the meeting.

Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the nation was on a fast for the independence of our nation. A few missionaries went to see him. He received them courteously and was happy that they took pains to see him at the time of his sacrifice for the freedom of the nation.

Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day. This happened in the history. The resurrection of Jesus is the· foundation of the gospel. It is also an important truth in Christian doctrine.

When Mother Theresa was asked about the secret of her power in service she replied that it was because the sisters of the mission get up at 4.30 a.m., in the morning every day, and spend a few hours in prayer. Their ministry was successful because they practiced what the Lord taught in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6:5-8.

One of the important attributes of Jesus Christ that challenged me last year while I meditated on the seven words of Christ on the cross was the love of Christ in praying for His enemies.
