The Team Ministry?

The Lord used David Watson and Anne Watson in their Church because of their team ministry. Both of them had a great vision for the church and for the worship in the church. Hence when they started their ministry, it was no wonder that their Church grew from nothing to 700 within a few years. Anne particularly had a vision for the community.

Andrew Maries wrote about them in ‘Living in community’, “Behind every great man there is usually an equally great woman. David has been a good communicator and interpreter. But Anne has been the instigator and visionary. Like Aaron and Moses they have complemented each other in a remarkable way.

If the things which St Michael’s (the church in which the Lord sent revival during their term) has been known for the music and worship, the banners,… the children’s work , even the concept of shared leadership and women’s ministry, most were spawned from her vision, which she then devoted herself to fulfilling. The household came into existence through her perseverance despite considerable resistance”.

Michael Green while writing about Watson wrote, “David Watson was one of the best known and loved Christian leaders of modern times… he had an impact as evangelist and teacher second only to Billy Graham”. One of the reasons why the Lord used him was his wife Anne, who stood behind him with vision and prayer. Let us pray that the Lord would raise families like David and Anne Watson in our country, for revival in our Churches.
