Trusting God for all Things
Once an officer attended a Bible study. At the conclusion of the study the leader said, “You can trust the Saviour, who died for you.” The officer was deeply touched and left the meeting. When he was traveling home the words, “You can trust the Saviour who died for you,” came to his mind again and again.
All those days he was considering full time work but was hesitant to leave his job due to insecurity and various commitments. He wondered whether God will meet all his needs and look after his wife and children. But now the words came with much emphasis, ‘You can trust the Saviour who died for you.’ He went home, prayed and committed his life for full-time ministry.
Later in the month, when he read the book of Romans, he fully understood the implication of trusting the Saviour for all things. He believed in Romans 8:32 which says, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” His fear about the future vanished. He understood that he can trust the Lord not only for meeting his needs but also the needs of his family. Next month, he took steps to leave the job and serve his Master. Later he shared that the Lord kept up His promise and He can be trusted.
Yes, you can trust the Saviour who died for you. This is because He did not spare His own Son, but sent Him to die for you on the cross.
Here is the chorus that encouraged me and strengthened me when I was a student and passed through many problems. Singing this chorus in prayer with the full understanding of the meaning of each word has given me peace and joy many times.
“Trust in the Lord and don’t despair
He is a friend so true
No matter what your troubles are
Jesus will see you through
Sing when the day is bright
Sing through the darkest night,
Everyday, all the way
Let us sing, sing, sing!”
